Editing blog

I was quite pleased with the editing process of my groups music video.  My group used the app IMovie to edit the video. All of my group members are familiar with this app so it was an easy choice. While filming, we played the song in the background with the intent of making the editing process easier. If each part of the video was designated to a specific part of the song, the timing of the video would be just right. This ended up helping the process a lot. First, I added all the clips together in the correct order to make sure the storyline of the video made sense. After all of the clips were in the correct order, we added the background music and trimmed the clips to make them fit the right lyrics. This was a very important step considering how storytelling the song is. While we were filming the part of the video where Sarah and David were walking together, i noticed that they were laughing. This part of the video is supposed to show David and Sarah having a good time so we decided to keep the laughing in the background; it added authenticity.  I slowed down the speed of multiple clips as well. The part of the song that says "when she walks by" is in slow motion so it corresponded nicely when the video was also in slow motion for that part. After changing the speed and trimming the clips multiple times, we decided together which transitions looked best. I didn't want the video to look choppy so this part was somewhat difficult. After each transition was added, i rewatched the video with my group and compared it to the other transition options to make sure we picked the best fit for each scene. Lastly, i did a lot of clean up editing to make sure that the timing was right and the scenes matched the storytelling lyrics correctly.  The entire process took a lot of trial and error but at the end it worked out great. The video ended up being one minute and 11 seconds which was perfect timing. I'm very proud of how the video turned out.
