AICE media studies

 I completed filming on Friday, April 1st. My group was struggling on being able to find a date that all of us can meet at my house. On Friday, i provided transportation for all of my group members to meet at my house so we could complete our remaining scenes at the bed location. We were able to film the characters second coincidental meeting scenes at dairy queen first. We incorporated a dutch and a tracking shot. When we arrived to my house, Sarah and I looked at the story board and discussed each scene. While discussing, we went over which camera angles and sound we would be incorporating into each scene. First, we filmed Dream walking into her "room". This scene was filmed with low lighting and diegetic footstep sounds. After she walks into her room she reaches for her notebook diary which was a prop previously used throughout the scenes. Dream then walks to the bed and reveals what was in the notebook the entire time.  The page in the notebook reads "Guide to becomi

 According to plan, my group was supposed to film on Monday, March 28th. I had to change the date because Sarah, my other group member wasn't able to attend that day. She let me know last minute that she wouldn't be able to attend on Monday either. I'm getting nervous because i wanted to complete filming before august so we can ensure we have enough time to edit. Now we are planning to film on a week day because we have to maintain a timely manner while working on this film. If my group member isn't able to attend again, i will have to video call her and film those scenes independently because the filming dates can't continue to get pushed back. If i video call her while filming, we will be able to discuss which angles to use and we can both be able to participate in the filming process. Although it's not the most efficient method, we will have to do it in order to make a successful film. One thing i have realized while filming is how to use teamwork. While work

 This blog is going to address the costume, sound, props and lighting in the film. The costumes are main implements in the story line. Dream who is playing the villain/obsessed best friend, will change her outfit throughout the entire film as she's trying to slowly become paulanka. In the first scene of the film, dream is wearing glasses and her hair tucked inside of her hoodie. This costume is supposed to represent an insecure character. It correlates with the story that Dream had just moved to the state and is shy. As paulanka and dream became closer, dream started by removing her hood and glasses. This represents her slowly getting more comfortable. This doesn't present its self as a worrisome action but at the end it will contribute to the rising action of the film. As the scenes continue Dream removes her jacket completely and adds false eyelashes. Lastly she has the exact same hairstyle and backpack as paulanka. By this part of the film, Dream and Paulanka look extremely

  Although we have gotten a lot of gotten a lot of filming done already, there has been a change of plans. As we were filming at the park on march 4th, we were supposed to film a scene at the dairy queen across the street. This scene consists of the character's second Coincidental interaction with each other. They were supposed to run into each other at the dairy queen and this would be an experience that boosts their friendship. We ran out of time on that day so we've been thinking of an alternative setting that we can film this scene in because it would hard to go to Dairy queen just to film that scene and leave. We are trying to find a public setting near my house that we can film that scene because in that case, we could film it after the other scenes that take place at my house. The other plan that got compromised was the filming day march 7th. We were supposed to film all of the reminiscing scenes at my house on that day so we can start editing soon. Sarah canceled and i

 Today was the day that Sarah and i picked out the background music we will use for our opening sequence. Sarah has been sick for the past couple days so we couldn't discuss too many details about the film. Since she hasn't been at school, i decided to video call her in class so we can discuss the film. We scrolled through royalty free music on YouTube and discussed which one would be the best fit. I looked over the storyboard and the previous clips we filmed to experiment with the music. We spent about thirty minutes scrolling until we found two songs that we agreed with. We decided to use a sound titled "Creepy Piano Loop- horror and suspense- Royalty free Stock music" and Royalty Free Music- Bump in the night- Horror- Kevin Macleod. I also discussed which scenes certain music and sound effects would be used in. I'm planning on using the piano music quietly in the background of the majority of the film.  I started filming on March 4th, 2022. I filmed at the hagen park location and we were able to complete many scenes. We filmed the scene where the characters "first met", a montage of the characters as they were best friends, and back up clips just incase something didn't fit in well while editing. We were able to incorporate many different camera angles. We incorporated an over the shoulder, low, eye level, and medium shot camera angles. We followed the guide of the storyboard which made the filming process much easier. It went very smoothly and we made sure to film the same scene from multiple different camera angles to experiment which angle would fit best for the scene. We still have to film the scene where the characters had their second coincidental interaction with each other at the dairy queen, when they're reminiscing, and when dream walks into her room incorporating the horror element.
