Troubles in the plan

The music video didn't go completely to plan. My group planned to film the video on December 3rd.  Sarah, David, and I were going to be the actors and Al'Janae was supposed to film. The group member who was designated to film got hands, foot, and mouth disease which is contagious. This means that she had to be absent for multiple days and it would interfere with our video. We didn't know when she would be able to come back to school. This was super unexpected and none of us could've done anything to prevent it. Though the situation was unfortunate, Sarah and i had to act quickly and find somebody who would be able to film for us. It was a bit of a struggle to find somebody who would take time out of their free time to do this favor for us but we ended up finding somebody. My friend madison agreed to film for us. Her mom was going to drive us to the park which seemed to turn out perfectly. Another option we were considering was to simply pick a different day to film so that Al'janae could be able film. The original reason my group picked December 3rd to film is because that date is a lyric in the song so it would incorporate perfectly into the video. Filming on December 3rd would also allow us enough time to finish our editing and blogs by the due date. Filming on a later date could leave my group tight on time and not allow us to complete our video to the best of its ability. Given that information, my group decided to eliminate that option. David, our other actor in the video didn't give us an absolute answer regarding if he would be able to film on the day or not which also caused us stress. We tried to find an alternate actor to play his role just in case he couldn't attend but we weren't able to find anybody. Even though we ran into some issues that interfered with our original plan, we were sure our alternative plan would work. We could only hope.

Filming solution

 welcome back! In the previous blog i discussed how i got sick a couple days before filming. I had to find a solution to the issue. I contacted my group members, a day before our planned filming day, letting them know that i wouldn't be able to attend. They informed me that it would be okay because the scenes being filmed didn't require every group member to be in it. I still wanted to be included because i know from our previous times filming that during the process we often make changes from the storyboard to better our film. These changes take place during the actual process of filming each scene as sometimes we realize that our storyboard is complicated to follow exactly.  I think it's important for each group member to contribute by adding their input to these changes as it adds as much perspective as possible. How to make a short film

  Blog 3 What is the take away from the video?   I have acknowledged all the aspects and things needed to make a film. I learned the writing tips, production and post production steps and procedures. I could take away that there are ways to be better prepared for filming then I have before.     What good information did you gather while watching  it?   Budgeting and the resources you have access to will be crucial throughout the entire making of the film. When editing, cut the scenes down until you can't anymore which will shorten the film to just the important parts of it. Preparation is key for a film. However, even if you create a storyboard for the entire film, there still may be changes while making it. Stick to a theme and a tone and let it guide the story. If you do not do so, it will confuse the audience. Lastly, taking care of your cast is important because if you do not have respect them, they may not make it as easy to film.     How do ...
