Genre Research: Action

 Actions movies focus on combat. Most of these movies include a scene where the protagonist has to choose between staying and fighting, or going home. They're faced with whether to choose freedom and save themselves, or save the others. Even though most actions movies seem like they are about saving the world and cool action scenes. They actually focus on the internal battle the protagonist has with himself. This is one of the elements of Action movies that appeal to me. An example can be found in WW84 where Diana is faced with being selfish and staying with Steve or giving up on him to save the world. In Spider-Man into the spider-verse where miles has to choose between being selfish and only being concerned with himself or becoming Spider-Man and fixing the different universes. Some filming techniques of action movies include Ariel shots, these shots are used to show full coverage of all the damage done during these action movies, or sometimes the severity of the situation our heroes are in before they come to save the day. This aspect of action movies just make the fighting scenes more impactful when you see how far the heroes come and how great their feats are. Action movies also heavily focus on Diegetic sound, this feature helps to connect the audience to the movie. these films amplify the sound during fights so that every move, and action can not only be heard but felt by the viewer. Action movies also implement cool Mis-En-Scene. Many super hero movies have main characters who are all decked out in super cool costumes and action gear. The movies also take place in famous settings so the audience can recognize the different well known locations. They incorporate many different props. Like in The Avengers with Thor and his hammer, or in Shang Chi with his ten rings. But all these different elements would be hard to do, for example I don't know how me and Macaria would be able to accomplish doing an Ariel shot or incorporate cool props and special effects that are normally included in Action movies.
