Editing part 2

Today was the day Sarah and i added the background music and titles to the film. I was excited for this part because it was the finishing touch to the film. It's critical that we added horror music to our film to make it mysterious. Although horror music is critical, we decided to add sentimental music throughout certain parts of the film. The horror element is implemented at the end of the film, this was done to leave the audience curious to find out what dream is going to do with all the information she has gathered about Paulanka. The beginning of the film is about the friendship they have created throughout time, meaning sentimental music would be appropriate. Once we felt that the background music correlated correctly to the scenes in the film, we added the diegetic sound. We added the sound of foot steps of Dream walking into her room where she has pictures of Paulanka on her wall. The footstep sounds would create a feeling of mystery for the audience. This creates suspense before Dreams true character of "Obsessed best friend" is finally revealed. Adding the titles wasn't too complicated considering we followed the storyboard. Initially, i didn't understand the amount of guidance the storyboard would truly provide while filming and editing. Throughout the entire filming and editing process i pulled out the storyboard to help us regain our exact vision of the film and create it. While adding titles we relied on the storyboard heavily. We experimented with different fonts and ended with the one most similar to the original font we picked while researching. We are very satisfied with the film and excited to show it to someone in search of recommendations about how to better the film.
