La Jetee review

      Chris Marker's 1962 short film "La Jetée" was modified by Terry Gilliam in 1995 to become the feature-length blockbuster "12 Monkeys." Instead of calling his own dystopian narrative a movie, Marker called it a photo book. The film consists of a number of still photos with voiceovers. It has a detached narrator who seems unconcerned with the current situation, which lends a more remote air to a tale about nostalgia for the past . Similar to La Jetée, 12 Monkeys was created by fans of the film and is a purposeful, reverent reworking of Marker's original plot, themes, and concepts. La Jetée is a fascinating low-fi sci-fi time-travel story told in these vignettes, in which a Parisian World War 3 survivor is transported back in time to save mankind before the earth was radioactively destroyed. Planning Blog

 Location- Hagen park, Dairy Queen, Macaria's House.  Time- We will film from 3:00- 5:30 on Tuesday 3/1. We will film from 2:00-5:00 at my house on 3/6.  Date-  We will start filming all the scenes at the park and Dairy queen on Tuesday 3/1 and we will reserve Tuesday 3/7 just in case we haven't finished filming the park scenes.  We will film the scenes at my house on Sunday 3/6  and reserve 3/13 as a backup date for the scenes at my house.  We will start editing on Monday 3/17 and continue until the 3/28  Actors- Paulanka Bastien and Dream Grant  Props- The main prop we will use is a diary. We will also use pictures of the characters incorporated in the end of the film.  Costume- They will be wearing casual wear. Paulanka's outfit will change throughout the film as she's trying to imitate Dream.  Health and safety- My parents will be supervising us at the park with a first aid kit present. Editing blog

My group had a unique editing experience. We had to film multiple scenes multiple times to make sure that we had enough clips for editing. Both of the times that my group filmed the commercial with Loudui and myself as the actors, we didn't complete enough scenes. The commercial that my group filmed with only myself as an actor was the clips that we chose to use for editing. While filming, my partners and i made sure to take editing into consideration which made the process easier. Finding a good editing app was a bit of a struggle. We edited some of the scenes on snapchat to add special effects and animated stickers. i chose snapchat because all of my group members know how to use it and there is a variety of effects and filters to choose from. The other app that we used to edit is called CapCut. Ive never used it before so i learned a lot of new stuff. We added all of the clips together and started making changes.
