Potential genres

 Welcome back! Before creating a film, it's important to research about a variety of factors that make up a film. Researching these factors can make sure the film reaches its best potential. The genre is a key component in the production of a film. Each genre has specific elements that help to convey the genre in the film. The three genres I'm researching is Comedy, Romance, and Horror. I picked these three genre's to research because i thought they would be most suitable for the pitch my group chose. The pitch being a girl going through 5 stages of heartbreak. Often times adults diminish the seriousness of teen relationships and their endings. This Point of view can be expressed with the comedy genre. Heartbreaks are result of a failed relationship. This relationship could've failed for any reason, even something frightening. This could fit into the horror genre. A heartbreak for anybody is a dramatic scene, this genre will most likely be the most appropriate for our pitch. The Drama genre can lead the scenes to focus on capturing emotions and feelings. Each of these genres is a possibility and researching them will give me a better perspective about which one would be most appropriate. After researching, my group can work together to figure out what camera angles, lighting, and sound we can use to create a high value film.

Production blog

 I started filming on March 4th, 2022. I filmed at the hagen park location and we were able to complete many scenes. We filmed the scene where the characters "first met", a montage of the characters as they were best friends, and back up clips just incase something didn't fit in well while editing. We were able to incorporate many different camera angles. We incorporated an over the shoulder, low, eye level, and medium shot camera angles. We followed the guide of the storyboard which made the filming process much easier. It went very smoothly and we made sure to film the same scene from multiple different camera angles to experiment which angle would fit best for the scene. We still have to film the scene where the characters had their second coincidental interaction with each other at the dairy queen, when they're reminiscing, and when dream walks into her room incorporating the horror element. Filming preperation

 Welcome! In this blog i discussed what i did in preparation of my first day of filming. My group discussed the final storyboard together so we all have an idea of what to expect the first day of filming. In preparation, all of my group members messaged Khalid through instagram asking for permission to use his song "coaster" in our short film. He hasn't answered yet and if he doesn't end up answering by the time i start editing the film, i can figure out a way to remix or edit the song to avoid copyright complications. Royalty free options are also open. Music is an important factor for the film especially considering the high emotions that need to be represented in the film. My film is in the drama genre, meaning the emotions represented are intended to have a impactful influence on the audience.
