filming day one

 I started filming on Sunday February 12th. I arrived to Nicoles house and my group and I immediately started discussing concerns and plans for the film. We briefly reviewed the storyboard so we can have an idea of what order we will be filming the scenes in. After discussing, we decided which scenes we should complete first. It started in chronological order, then we filmed the scenes that included all members just in case someone isn't able to make it another day of filming. We used Filipe as our male actor. He isn't in our group for the project so we decided to film the scenes that he is in first. He is doing us a favor so we made sure to use him only when necessary. That day, we finished all scenes that He was included in, which was about 4 scenes. Once Filipe left, we filmed the most critical scenes of the film which include the ones that use Nicole, Brianna, and i as characters. By the end of the day, we completed about half of the storyboard. My group is planning on completing the filming the rest of the film in a timely manner to ensure we have enough time to edit. While filming, each of us shared ideas that we thought would be most efficient for each scene. This was my first time working with my group members on a project so i was a bit nervous at first but as i got more comfortable, i shared ideas that were used to better the film. For example, in the party scene, we had to figure out a way to block out the daylight. Lighting is an important part of the atmosphere/setting so it was essential that we figured out a way to imitate an actual party, this was a challenge to do in daylight. To do this, we hung up two blankets in attempt to block out the sunlight and used props such as balloons, glasses, and color-changing lights to represent a party setting. Although my group members played as actors, all of us worked together in recommending certain camera angles and camera shots to implement a variation on the film. Overall, the first day of filming was very successful and i'm excited to continue working with my group to create a wonderful film. I will continue to think of new ideas and research factors that will benefit our film.
